Pencombe and Little Cowarne WI was originally formed in 1924 though with a lapse of several years during and after the world wars was restarted again in 1971. It celebrated its 50th anniversary of continuous meetings in 2021 and currently has 19 members. It is a great opportunity to meet other women with all kinds of interests and backgrounds and make local friendships. Perhaps you are local and looking to widen your network or have recently moved to the area and are looking to build your social contacts. Whatever your need, we can offer a warm, welcoming and friendly environment.

Why not come along one evening and share the experience?

Each meeting begins at 7:30pm with a short business section followed by a talk, discussion or social event. We finish with a cup of tea and a chat, leaving the hall around 9:30pm. Look at our programme to see the kinds of entertainments we put on and where we go for our summer outings.

There is no requirement to join the organisation, but membership offers benefits such as reduced meeting fees, a magazine and access to activities organised by the County and National WI’s including handicraft and cookery courses, now sometimes on Zoom, and social campaigning.e
